Welcome to week 2 of our #choosejoychallenge! So, how did you all do last week with the smile not sigh challenge? Week 1 was a challenge, but I learned that a smile for an answer really can make a difference, not only in my attitude but for my kids also.
However, I think this weeks challenge may be a little harder. This week’s challenge is to STOP COMPARING!
We ALL do it! How many times have you compared your car, blog, kids, or finances to someone else’s?
However, when we compare our lives to others we are allowing ourselves to be jealous of what others have. Theodore Roosevelt said this:
Comparison is the thief of joy
That phrase is so true! Maybe we want the bigger home, or we want our kids to act better, or we want a bigger platform. But that jealousy can cause us to resent others, and it limits God’s plan for our lives. The comparison makes us less appreciative of the blessings right in front of us. It robs us of our joy.
So, this week I challenge you to stop looking at His plan for others and rejoice in His plan for you and your family. Let’s choose to see the joy in what we have this week, and not compare our blessings to others.
Are you joining me on this challenge? As you go throughout the week feel free to share your thoughts and experiences on social media with the hashtag #choosejoychallenge. I’ll be checking in as well on Facebook and Instagram.
Moms, I encourage you this week to choose well and choose joy!
